Coca-Cola’s Social Impact Honored at SDPI’s 28th Sustainability Development Conference

Coca-Cola successfully showcased its wide range of sustainability initiatives at the 28th Sustainable Development Conference, hosted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). A major highlight was The Coca-Cola Foundation receiving the Best Social Impact Award for its Home Chefs Project from SDPI. Implemented in partnership with CARE Pakistan, this initiative is training 8,000 home-based chefs, 80% of whom are women, to scale up their micro-businesses.
The Coca-Cola sustainability pavilion at Sustainable Development Conference was inaugurated by Mr. Hakan Ergen, Vice President of Coca-Cola Eurasia & Middle East. General Manager Coca-Cola Pakistan Mr. Sami Wahid, high-profile government officials, including Minister for Planning and Development Dr. Ahsan Iqbal and Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik, visited the Coca-Cola pavilion. They commended Coca-Cola Pakistan’s efforts in environmental stewardship, water security, waste management, and community empowerment.
SDPI, which hosts the Sustainable Development Conference annually to advance evidence-based dialogue among policymakers and business leaders, also presented key findings of a Socio-Economic Impact Report on Coca-Cola Pakistan, analyzing the company’s significant contributions to the country’s GDP, employment, and tax revenues. The study reaffirms the Coca-Cola System’s deep integration within Pakistan’s economic and social fabric.
