LONGi Named to Bloomberg Green’s 2026 Watchlist for ESG Leadership
LONGi, a global solar technology company with a growing footprint in Pakistan’s renewable energy market, has been recognized under the “Leading ESG Project” category in Bloomberg Green’s 2026 Watchlist, highlighting its continued focus on sustainability, clean energy innovation, and environmental responsibility.
Bloomberg Green’s annual Watchlist identifies organizations worldwide that are advancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices through tangible outcomes. LONGi’s inclusion reflects its progress in developing high-efficiency solar technologies alongside efforts to lower the environmental impact of solar manufacturing.
Among the factors cited for the recognition are LONGi’s recent efficiency milestones in photovoltaic research. The company has achieved a 27.81 percent efficiency level for its Hybrid Interdigitated Back Contact (HIBC) solar cell, as well as a 35 percent efficiency record for its silicon-perovskite tandem cell, marking notable advancements in next-generation solar technology.
In parallel with technological development, LONGi has expanded initiatives aimed at reducing carbon emissions across its global operations. These include increasing the share of green electricity used in manufacturing and adopting low-carbon production processes. Such measures are increasingly relevant for solar supply chains serving emerging markets, including Pakistan, where demand for reliable and affordable clean energy continues to rise.
Energy experts note that improvements in solar efficiency and responsible manufacturing practices are critical for countries like Pakistan, which face mounting energy needs, rising fuel costs, and climate-related challenges. High-efficiency solar modules can help optimize land use, improve project economics, and support national renewable energy targets. The recognition by Bloomberg Green reinforces LONGi’s position within the global clean energy landscape at a time when ESG performance is becoming a key benchmark for credibility and long-term impact in the solar sector.
